the other day I posted a picture of yarn in all different colors and asked what color will I have trouble finding in your stash. The first response was orange and I was like because I have so much orange in my stash it’s not even funny. I absolutely love orange, the color, the scent and the fruit. It’s warm, bright and represents one of my favorite times of the year; Autumn. According to Wikipedia Orange is often associated with amusement, the unconventional, extroverts, fire, activity, danger, taste and aroma, basically me! Well not the danger part, wait you are always in danger of falling in love with me, so yea Orange is me!
When I look back at the big “firsts” in my knitting….you guessed it, they are orange. My Easy folded poncho by Churchmouse Yarns was made with Blue Sky Alpaca Melange and I have never, ever worn it without getting a compliment.
or my first attempt at Brioche in a pattern called Desirée, I used Anzula For better or for worsted in the color called Canteloupe. This baby sold immediately!
I mean even my very first attempt at color work, omg I was so afraid and let that project sit for a minute. What color did I pick up? yup Orange, well it’s called Citrus from Madelinetosh pashmina, talking about super soft and luscious..OMG!!
My first Cardigan, that I proudly completed during my stay in the Philippines. The pattern is called Vivienne Cardigan and Wool and the Gang calls the color Vitamin C and it is absolutely gorgeous..look
